I am extremely honored to have been asked by the Long Riders Guild to carry the official flag on my journey.
The flag has recently arrived from another historic long ride completed by Bernice Ende who just became the first person to ride sea-to-sea in both directions on the same journey, via my fabulous ride mentor Lisa Stewart. You can read more about these amazing ladies on the Guild website here.
The Guild flag is carried on long rides of particular merit (as described on this page of their website). Flag carriers are selected based on the characteristics of courage, hope, trust, honor, brotherhood, and community.
Many thanks to the Guild for seeing these qualities in me, Apollo, and our ride. We will do our very best to live up to the honor of being flag carriers.
