Plant a Victorian Talking Garden

For most people, the combination of sage and rosemary sounds like the beginnings of a recipe.  But in the Victorian language of flowers, these mean wisdom and remembrance, and combining these together and with other plants could give them whole new meanings.

People from cultures all over the world have given symbolic meanings to flowers and other plants, but perhaps none so thoroughly as in Victorian era England.  Whole flower dictionaries were written in those days for comprehensive lists of the "language of flowers," and people took these meanings very seriously when planning everything from their landscaping to the flowers to decorate their hats.
