About Meredith Cherry
  • 20 years of horse experience
  • Graduated with honors from Colorado State University, BS in Equine Science
  • Worked as a wrangler in the Colorado Rockies
  • Volunteered as a wrangler in India
  • Escaped a ten year domestic violence (DV) relationship in 2013
  • Experienced psychological, sexual, spiritual, emotional and physical abuse
  • Credits Buddhism with showing her the path to freedom and healing from DV
About Apollo
  • 8 year old Peruvian Paso-Mustang palomino gelding
  • Has been with Meredith for 3 years as of the start of the ride
  • Is being trained using Natural Horsemanship methods
  • Always ready to play a new game
  • Has a very clever "horsenality" (personality) and gets bored with arena work
  • Has two coat colors: penny bronze for summer, pale peach for winter
  • Will eat anything, including tree bark, and likes it
